primer design by generunner DG - (May/18/2010 )

I have a question about primer design by generunner :
is there any accepted treshould of dG in analysis of hairpin or dimers?

I had this same problem some days ago. I read a lot of bibliography and I use these tresholds:
dG>-3Kcal/mol for hairpins and dG>-6Kcal/mol for dimers.

I read that larger negative valuer for dG indicate stable, undesirable structures.
