the necessity of microRNA mutation design - (May/05/2010 )

Do you think it is necessary to design a mutaion binding site between micrRNA and targets' 3-UTR ?
I think it is a logical redundancy ,but all articals have this programme.

it'd be nice to hear different opinions on the matter, literature is heterogeneous and many times mutations are not described in details
