Bad sequence - (Apr/14/2010 )

Hi!
For some reason I get only this kind of bad sequence to all my samples, even the positive one, and I've tried it already twice. Does somebody know what's wrong with it? Would surely appriciate! Cheers! Emilia

Oh dear, that clearly has not worked at all

You'll have to give us more information in order to help you...ie: what are you sequencing, how much, are you doing it yourself etc etc.

I'm sequencing a PCR product, which is about 700bp and doing it myself. My friend found some troubleshooting, which said it could be due to cycle sequencing not working or bad clean up. So next I'll try a new primer, which should work better. Let's see if that gives out anything. Thanks! Emilia.

Sorry! False alarm! Should really check that the files you're looking are .seq files and not .ab1 files... :( But thanks anyway! B)

You mean the other way around, right?

I always use Chromas to open and check .ab1 files. Actually I just tried to open a .seq file in Chromas and it would not let me. I think .seq files are actually text files which you can open in notepad.

But glad that you got it all figured out.
