inhibitors - (Apr/09/2010 )

Hello!
Does anybody know what is the procedure with checking some inhibitors on differents enzymes from the same type, I mean now metalloproteinases? I would like to know what general procedure should be taken, how to compare ativity of the compounds on enzymes which has different activity, should I take the same amount of activity units of each of them?? Maybe someone knows a paper or book which expains this kind of experiments? Thanks

usually, you take the purified or enriched enzyme for an in vitro assay to determine the basic data of kinetics, in your case, inhibition of kinetics;

for documentation and reading, "Methods in Enzymology" is a series of books to find standard protocols; im quite sure you will find sth about MP
