RNA isolation with peqGold TriFast - (Feb/24/2010 )

Hi!

I want to extract total RNA from bacteria from environmental samples. During my search for an easy and appropriate protocol I came across the peqGold Trifast solution. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it produce good results?

Thank you!

Hello,

I'm using it for isolating RNA from mammalian cells and tissues and it works quite good. Before, I used Trizol from Invitrogen, but I have the impression that Trifast gives a more stable interphase after chloroform centrifugation. The removing of the upper aqueous phase is much faster and easier. Concerning purity and yield I would say they are comparable.

Thank you! I will try it out myself and post about my experiences later on..
