monoclonl antibody application specifity - (Jan/16/2010 )

Hi
how can antibodies become specific for an application for example western blotting or immunopercipitation?
what if I use an antibody that specified for WB by supplier in other application like elisa?

Antibodies don't become specific for an application, what it means is that the vendor has tested it for that application and garantees that it is suitable for that application.
Most of the times it will be suitable for other applications but it's something you've the figger it out yourself.
