Incompatible restriction sites - Will E.coli ligate for me? (Jan/14/2010 )

One of the restrictions sites of my fragment is common with that of the vector, but not the other. Can I still transform competent cells with this incompletely ligated molecule? Will E.coli ligate the other half for me? I am just not sure about this. Thank you.

ligation cannot occur b/w incompatible sites..........e.coli will not do it for you.

Thank you, DRN. I will proceed to order some linkers then.
