tissue disruption help... - beads that are more than beads (Jan/14/2010 )
please help...I am looking for beads that possibly have blades or sharp edges so thay can cut as opposed to mash the tissue, I am working with living skin equivs (LSEs) and some real human skin...any ideas of where I can purchase anything like this pleeeeeease....many thanks in advance...
Can I ask why u want to cut them down instead of grinding them !!? I used to use beads for isolating RNA from human skin (was using mortar and pestle before the lab got a beadmill...was a real PITA) never worked with LSE

If you are looking to get out live cells, most people just chop the tissue into small chunks and then digest in collagenase or trypsin for a while, then plate out the cells and don't disturb for a week or so, giving the cells some time to migrate out of the tissue pieces.
