how to get higher RNA purity? - (Dec/30/2009 )

I extract RNA from plant leaves tissue using trizol protocol, my RNA purity OD260/280 around 1.5, some 1.48 but OD260/230 from 2.2-2.6. What happen with my samples ? How can i get higher OD260/280 ?. Thank so muck !!!

you have to get rid of traces of phenol and proteins!

Try another round of phenol:chloroform:isoamylalcohol extractions, this should improve your purity if it is that important for your downstream applications.

When doing Trizol extraction try not to get in contact with the interphase!
