AdEasy Vector System: Why PacI digestion? - (Nov/29/2009 )

Hello,

why do I have to perform a PacI digestion of the purified vector prior to transfection of 293 cells?
What happens when skipping this step and directly transfect the cells?

I don't actually know, but I am guessing that the digest linearizes the plasmid, meaning your transfection is more likely to work - check the product manual, it will have a description of the process.
