PLASMA RNA extraction - (Nov/26/2009 )

HI,

I will soon be extracting RNA form plasma using SV total RNA isolation kit (Promega). I understand its quite difficult to get a good yield. I will be using 20oul of plasma volume for the RNA extraction. This is my first time. All advice/suggestions would be welcomed.

I use the SV total RNA isolation kit freequently.
It's a very straight forward protocol.
Not much place to go wrong with.
Just follow the instructions.

BTW, if you're apprehensive about the yield, you might want to use a micro prep extraction kit.
When I have to extract from little fragments (10-60mg) I use the zymo ZR RNA MicroPrep
