Colony counting with Haemophilus influenzae - (Nov/12/2009 )
I'm due to start working with Haemophilus influenze soon so I've done some preliminary plating on chocolate agar as I believe this is the main medium to grow it on. However, the colonies appear VERY small, transparent and are extremely difficult to see even through the lid of the petri dish with a light box underneath. Does anyone have any suggestions on making the colonies easier to see for my upcoming colony counts that I will have to be doing? All help is very welcome!

Maybe you can try to cultivate them on Blood agar it works fine for SP or add some ISovitalex in your chocolate agar that's what we do in our lab
