viability of adherent cells - (Oct/14/2009 )

Hi,
I am wondering what is the best way to measure the viability of adherent cells in culture?
Thanks

Thanks for the info. Would you just add trypan blue to the media? And count the cells while they are adhered?

most people would lift the cells in some fashion and then look at them in a haemocytometer. It is sort of a moot question anyway, most (I guess more than 95%) of the adherent cells will be viable - they round up and lift off when they die.
