Intestine histology slide extraction and storage - (Oct/10/2009 )

Hi! I would gratly thank anyone who could give me any information about how to preserve tissues (like synovial membrane and liver slides) taken from rabbits, so as to in the future, do an RT-PCR and a Westernblot.

Thank you very much!

Taken fresh from rabbits? If so - snap freeze (liquid nitrogen or dry ice) in tubes and store at -80. RNA can be preserved in RNA later at room temperature, but I don't know of any similar product for protein.

If from slides - you will have problems, the fixing and mounting process cross-links proteins (that's why you do antigen retrieval) and destroys RNA by heat and formadehyde.
