Anyone using AppBiosys TaqMan Gene Expression Assays in LightCycler or RotorGene - (Sep/17/2009 )

Anyone using AppBiosys TaqMan Gene Expression Assays in LightCycler or RotorGene (capillary based air-heating real-time thermal cycler)???

Thks!

Not used but what a problem? Any RT-cycler will be fine.

Two main differences:
- Surface -->glass (capillary) or plastic (plates)
- Glass capillary-based RT-cyclers heats samples by air convection and plate-based RT-cyclers heats by peltier system. The kinetics of heating/cooling processes are very different.
Most probe manufacturers do not guarantee a good performance under these conditions specially if they only produce plate-based RT-cyclers (Applied Biosystems)
Physics and busssines are sometimes unpredictable!
