cytoplasmic/nuclear fraction - (Sep/15/2009 )

HI

I did some cytoplasmic and nuclear protein extration. After which I ran a western on both cytoplasmic and nuclear fraction to check for beta actin and histone expression (loading controlz). I get even loading for beta actin in the cytoplasmic and nuclear fraction and equal loading for histone in the cytoplasmic and nuclear fraction. Does this mean contamination? Is beta actin only to be detceted in the cytoplasmic fraction and is histone only to be detected in the nuclear fraction?

Histones are only found in the nucleus, but actin is found in both.
