How strong is the "passive absorption"interaction? - (Sep/03/2009 )

When a protein is coated to latex particles through passive absorption (by different charges), how strong will be their interaction? Reversible?

If i sonicate them with a ultrasonic bath, will it dissociate them?

Hi LOW,

IMHO it will take a little bit more than an ultrasonic cleaner. I suggest direct sonication or indirect sonication. This would give you better control over sonication parameters, such as amplitude or intensity.

Hope this helps. Have a nice day!

Molecular weight, while often used in passive absorption models, was shown to be superfluous The pharmaceutical industry has therefore shown strong, phospholipid bilayer capable of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic interactions

thanks
