Replication Banding
(Waisman Center Cytogenetics Lab, University of Wisconsin - Madison)
Provides differential staining of early and late replicating areas of the chromosomes. Allows identification of the early replicating X chromosome. Can be used for marker chromosome analysis. When Bromo deoxyuridine is added at the end of culture late replicating areas will stain pale and early replicating areas will stain dark.

Solid Tumor Cultures for Chromosome Analysis
(Waisman Center Cytogenetics Lab, University of Wisconsin - Madison)
A. Samples of solid tumors or lymph nodes may be sent from patients with cancer. These samples should be processed directly and also set up for short term culture of tumor cells. Care must be taken to avoid over-growth of normal fibroblast cells that are also present in the tumor specimen.
