#25012 Being good at the bench

Posted jangajarn on 23 May 2009 - 11:06 AM

Hey guys,
Being a relatively new graduate student in a big lab where people do not have time to train me, I wanted to train myself. I read this book "At the bench" by Kathy Barker and wrote down things which were important for me. But nevertheless I thought it might be useful to somebody else also. I've attached the document with this post.
Enjoy!

#23831 good book on science

Posted jangajarn on 08 May 2009 - 02:35 PM

Hey all,
Does anybody know a book (about biological science preferably) which can be read like a novel? Like a life story of a scientist, or some random ramblings of a scientist wondering about nature, or anything which one can read and get inspired/thrilled. A good example would be "the Beautiful mind", which came as a movie later.
Thanks!
