For the Plant DNA extraction, there are many different protocols, depending on the type of plant material you are using. The woodiness of the plant and the source material (leaf vs stem, root) will make a difference, so I would recommend doing a more specific literature search with the exact plant and source material. That said, most plant DNA extraction protocols use a chemical called CTAB as well as PVP. I have posted a link to one such protocol:

As for Western Blotting, the company AbCam has some really good starting point protocols, but again, things need to be optimized based on your antibody and sample:
