I am looking to purchase DG44 cells because these are the cells that I see appear in the literature most often for transient transfection and recombinant protein production for commercial uses. I know that DG44 cells are dhfr- mutants, but the only vendor I see refer to their cells as DG44 is at Invitrogen. All other cell line vendors just refer to them as CHO dhfr-. Is there an actual difference do you think between cells designated DG44 and those designated CHO dhfr-? Thanks!
Is it possible to purchase HEK293-E (293-E, HEK293-EBNA) suspension adapted cells? Do people purchase HEK293 cells then get them to express EBNA protein or do the cells already express the EBNA protein? Are they already suspension adapted or is that something individual researchers have to do?
