long PCR for mtDNA

Just buy some of the mixes that various companies sell for this.

They are Taq with a little bit of a proofreading enzyme mixed in, and have names such as Expand or "LA" or "HiFi".  Search on a website such as [url="http://www.sigma-aldrich.com"] or[url]http://www.gibco.com[/url][/url] or [url="http://www.roche.com"][url]http://www.roche.com[/url][/url]

We usually get all our reagents from Sigma just because they work and the price is right.
