Dear colleagues,

I have a SUMO fusion protein for polyclonal antibody production in rabbit (use in prokaryotic extracts only, pull-downs, westerns, immunostaining etc.) How important is it to remove the SUMO tag prior to immunization? Does anybody have experience with it?

It depends how big is your tag (I don't know the Sumo ) in case of the His Tag (6histine residues) we had mAb against the protein in 95% of the cases ! I've seen only one fusion (out of 100 that we met in the lab) where we obtain some anti-His mAb.

Hope it helps
