DNA isolation from cyanobacteria

Hi evry1
m currently working on the molecular biology of cyanobacteria and am getting very bad 260/280 ratio of the DNA(around 2.5-3). The problem is that the bands are visible on the gel. Can any1 solve my problem. I am using the phenol chloroform extraction alongwith the CTAB reagent.....Please do help me as soon as possible....waiting 4 ur answers....
