I am new to this line. My guide has ordered one siRNA for his gene of interest. On the tube its written 100uM. Its a lyophilized or dried form. How much diluent I need to add to get a conc 100pico moles/micro litres.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
If the sample is lyophilized it cannot be in a uM concentration, 100 uM means 100 umoles in a litre. Does it mean you have 100 umoles in your tube? This is a lot so probably unlikely, do you have a data sheet with the siRNA, it should tell you on there how many moles you have (usually in the low nmol range)

So for example if you have 50 nmoles of RNA you would add 500 ul diluent to get 100 pmol/ul (because 50/500 = 0.1 nmol i.e. 100 pmol)

It is probably 100 nmoles, not 100 uM. As penguin said, the sample is lyophilized so there can't be a concentration, only an amount. What's the molecular weight of the oligo?
