hello,

have a question about writing of my PhD-tesis. i´ve currently published one paper which will be part of my thesis.
we have grant money till feb. 2010. at the moment i´m working on an additional project, but i think that the remaining time is too less (6 months) to publish this stuff.

1st Q: do you think that the content of one paper is enough for a PhD-thesis?
2nd Q: is it possible to include the results of my additional project even if it is another issue?

would be great if someone of you have experience with thesis writing!

thanks in advance

Write about all of your results, particularly if there is a connecting theme. One paper is not a lot, but it depends on how much work you did to generate that one paper. If you took many different approaches and some failed while others succeeded, describe all of these approaches in your dissertation, showing the results of each. This will show your flow of research and explain how the publication took shape and may help others who are trying similar approaches, etc.

Science is simply common sense at its best that is rigidly accurate in observation and merciless to fallacy in logic.
Thomas Henry Huxley
