Hi can I use Opti-MEM as a media for serum starvation?  I need to grow monolayers but want to maximize a drug treatment so I am starving.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Use the same medium as you normally culture your cells in, just leave out the serum.  Changing the type of medium on many cell lines causes them some stress, so it is best to keep things consistent.
