then they have to try and try again no matter how long it takes or how minute the success can be bec if they do nothing, then the alternative would be soo much worse for everyone...

but if they give up or lose all hope, what else is left? And the search for peace is never futile nor meaningless...so Sisyphus boulder is not a fair analogy....
