well, i have a choice of either getting a mini laptop/netbook, or getting a tablet. easy to check email when away, and i don't have a smart phone. i miss having something small and computery.

I also have a small laptop, I'd avoid most netbooks because usually they're too slow (i.e. with Atom processors)...anyway for some emails and working/reading papers they're okay too. With subnotebooks you can do work similar as with a desktop....

i had 2 mini laptops (a eee, and a hp), both stolen. 3rd time lucky?
i do most of my typing on my lovely huge laptop, but it's too heavy to take with me for quick getaways.
