Hi friends:

Ongoing work in our laboratory identified a new subpopulation of B lymphocytes. Wild-type mice when treated with Ag/alum, show that Ab production and Ig class switch is primarily restricted to the new B lymphocyte subpopulation we identified but not to conventional B cells. To further prove this I pulsed (O/N) this new subpopulation of B cells with NP-CGG, washed, and transferred into B cell deficinet uMT mice. Seven days later, I noticed significant serum anti-NP IgM but not anti-NP-IgG1 levels suggesting class-switch has not occurred in these mice.

Does anyone have an idea if the B cell deficient uMT mice have FDC networks to support class-switch? If so, could you supply me with some references.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
