I was hoping someone could help me with the following:

1) An antibody that is specific to dorsal root ganglion (DRG) cells. I am trying to decipher in my primary DRG culture which cells are DRG cells and which are not (i.e., schwann cells)

Moreover, if anyone has a thorough protocol of culturing primary DRGs could you please send it.

Thank you.

I assume you mean you want to identify which cells are neurons in your culture. If so, the best Ab to use would be NeuN, which stains all neuronal nuclei. For glia, I'd recommend GFAP.

A good standard protocol for DRG culture is:
Nat Protoc. 2007;2(1):152-60

I've also attached the protocol I use, which is a modified version of the Malin protocol.

It may take a few tries to get it right, but keep at it.

Good luck
