Do any one is familiar with methods to improve sensitivity of silver staining technique used for SDS-PAGE??

one thing that we have done is stain twice (with or, mostly, without a destaining step). but the background can get very dark.
with the silver stain method we use (modified, by us, merril) we still get a translucent (amber) background.
