Can someone please explain to me the meaning of the positives in the BLAST result? My proteins of interest have 57% identities (I guess that means that 57% of the amino acids are identical and aligned?) and 73% positives. Would really appreciate it!!

i don't know the details, but it should be something like "similar size", "similar polarity",...
