Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to the staining area and need to buy a secondary antibody, but if the product description says it has been "adsorbed" against rat IgG, does that mean I cant use it against cells derived from rat?

So confused!!

Thanks guys :D

Usually product description will indicate specificity and adsorption against other animal products to remove any cross reactive abs that may exist.

For example adsorbed against rat IgG means product should not react with rat IgG.

I prefer to use products that state specificity AND "no reaction" with.... <animal, antibody class, light chain...>
