Dear all,
I have performed lysotracker red- and monodansyl cadaverin-staining (acidic compartments markers) of epithelial cells infected with intracellular bacteria growing in vacuole. In some experimental conditions, acidic compartments (lysosome) fuse with the vacuole and lead to death of the pathogen :) , but I have some trouble to explain the staining observed with LT and MDC since I show by confocal microscopy staining that systematicaly colocalized with the "membranes" of the bacteria instead to observe soluble staining.... :)  Did somebody experienced that before with LT or MDC staining?

many thanks

Phil
