Culturing QT6 cell line
Posted 27 April 2009 - 02:15 PM
First my culture media:
Medium 199 with Earle's salts
10% tryptose phosphate broth
+ antibiotic (pen/strep)
I tried this medium to begin with but my cell started dying. They look spindly & there are a lot of floaters.
Then I took away the DMSO and the cells did a bit better.
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on culturing these cells.

The ATCC recommends:
ATCC complete growth medium: Ham's F12K medium with 2 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate supplemented with 10% tryptose phosphate broth and 5% bovine calf serum
