Hello everyone
Just want to ask a basic question for co-immunoprecipitation

I know Co-IP can pull the known protein and its entire complex out of the solution by binding the antibody with that protein...
But if I want to identify the unknown members ithat I pull out in the complex, waht can I do?

There is no easy way to identify interacting proteins (of unknown origin) with a co-IP. If you have a suspected interactor, you can do a Western after co-IP, though if you don't have an antibody already for your suspected protein, this could become quite costly.  If the proteins are completely unknown, you would need to do mass spec.

Science is simply common sense at its best that is rigidly accurate in observation and merciless to fallacy in logic.
