hi,
can anyone tell me why do u add chloremphenicol antibiotic to the L.lactis cutlture....

To kill it?

To check whether it has a resistance?

Depends on what research you are doing or reading about.

If I am not mistaken, L. lactis is commenly used as a bacterial carrier for DNA delivery , ex. a resistance against chloramphenicol.
If you don't know it, then ask it! Better to ask and look foolish to some then not ask and stay stupid.
