Hi, I need to write a ~4,000 word essay in any International Baccalaureate subject. I've chosen biology, and would like some suggestions as to what to write about. It should be something that I can collect data upon myself, and something with a lot of room for analysis and evaluation. Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Are you going to do small experiment?

It should be something I can do provided normal high school lab equipment, but it can be a long experiment. I have all summer plus a few months (so about 5-6 months total) to work on this. I can honestly do a pretty big experiment. Thanks.

Which area of biology interest you?
Zoology, Botany, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics

I would say my main interest is in human physiology, but I really don't mind doing an experiment in most subject areas.

What about some experiments on sense physiology of humans. You could do experiments on e.g. the visual field and the tactile resolution and make statistics on them.
Therefore you would just need a lot of probands...

(I don't know the english words for "sense physiology", "tactile resolution", but I hope you understand what I mean.)
