Hi!
I need to work with human macrophages that are adherent. We have THP-1 cells but they grow in suspension only. Does someone has idea how these cells behave after differentiation e.g. with PMA? and how is the second and further passages would be? I would like to have them adherent but still NOT activated.
Thank you in anticipation

Hi,
I believe that THP-1 cells that have been differentiated into adherent macrophages by PMA are less activated than if you differentiate them with IFN-g.
Also, there is an A-THP-1 adherent cell line which demonstrates characteristics of activated macrophages in the absence of stimulators. I'm not sure if this is available to buy from ATCC though.
