Dear all
I have used PIERCE kit for subcellular fractionation to prepare nuclear and cytosolic extracts. Although I followed the kit instructions but the fractions were not clean as I found beta actin in both fractions. Does anyone knows a better kit for preparation of cytosolic, nuclear and mitochondrial fractions?
one more thing, can I use syringe for homogenization instaed of vortexing?

I was told that beta actin can be sometimes found in mitochondria (amazingly....)
And tubulin might be a better control instead
