Hey, so I am just wondering if there are any differences between rat and mouse neuron cultures--What are the benefits of one versus the other?

One can get transgenic cultures (also KO) with mouse compared to rat. But one can get more cells from rat pups than mouse pups.

It is a lot easier to dissect out various brain regions when you use the rat.  The mouse brain is hard to handle because it is soo small.
