I am using progesterone in cell culture and want to use levels equivalent to human menstrual phases and human pregnancy.
Most data for human levels is presented in ng/ml such that:
luteal phase - 1-1.5 ng/ml
follicular phase - 2-28 ng/ml
1st trimester - 9-47 ng/ml
2nd trimester - 17-147 ng/ml
3rd trimester - 55-200 ng/ml
But in cell culture we use concentration (nM).
If the molecular weight of progesterone is 314.47 g/mol than after calculating concentrations I will assume the following:
luteal phase - 3-5 nM
follicular phase - 6-100 nM
1st trimester - 30-200 nM
2nd trimester - 150-450 nM
3rd trimester - 165-600 nM
Do these concentrations look correct? (i.e. I don't need verification that my calculations are correct, just that the concentrations match assumed human levels)
Thanks,
AussieUSA.
