Dear All
in cell viability assay. I do know which type of regression (logharythmic or exponential) shoul be used to get the equation used for IC50 assesment?

Use BioDataFit to calculate it. We have a protocol from setting up the 96-well plate to treatment to IC50 calculation here. You could modify it to fit your assay.

Bioassays such as dose response curves where you are trying to calculate EC50 or IC50 values from usually exhibit a nonlinear regression sigmoidal curve that is best described by either the 4 parameter logistic or 5 parameter logistic model equation.  Here is a blog post that goes into more details on fitting dose response curves using the 4-PL and 5-PL model equations and how you can easily acquire the EC50 or IC50 values.  There is also a free 14-day trial software called MasterPlex ReaderFit that can automate the curve fitting for you.
