Hi,

I am having a little probelm in growing Mycobacterium smegmatis (Mc2155). If somebody grows this bacterium in the lab, then can you please tell me, what is the OD for stationary phase for this bacterium in 7H9 media supplimented by 2% glucose. And how much time does it take to reach that OD?

Thankyou

Make a growth curve yourself. The doubling time of mc155 is around 2~3hr. So stationary phase should be reached after 2 days of culturing.
But keep in mind that the volume of your culture is critical. i.e O.D at stationary phase will be higher if you use larger volume of medium (more nutrient supply).

In my epxerience, mc155 in 500ml 7H9 media wihtout any other supplement can reach O.D=2.0
