members who registered before 2005 didn't lose any information and kept their post record.

they only kept the posts from before the last backup (in 2005). they lost all the posts after that point (eg- aimikins had over 1890 posts before, 36 now).

hmmm there are a few old-schoolers around, I think. I joined a little over 5 years ago, and it was already a going concern that had been around for a while.
