I am doing photolabeling now, and I have to send the protein band (in a SDS-PAGE gel slice 6mmx3mm) to another place to sequence it. Can I freeze the gel slice and put it in a dry ice box? The protein ( with tritiated ligand covalently bond) will be OK with freezing?
And, another question, should I wash away the residue SDS from the gel slice so the band won't diffuse? Will the protein diffuse away from the gel if I don't wash away SDS? The SDS concentration is 2% in loading buffer and 0.1% in running buffer.
Thanks
can I freeze the gel slice for protein sequencing
