I need to run a plant protein extract on a 2D gel. I work with an aquatic plant that I think has a high content of phenolic compounds. Can anybody recommend a good protocol for plant protein clean up prior to 2D electrophoresis?

2D electrophoresis tips are also welcome (ie, preventing streaking, etc).
