I am expressing several proteins using baculovirus expression system. At day 3 post infection (MOI approx. 10) I see several degradation products of my secreted recombinant protein. Some of them are also present at day 2 p.i., but the expression level is lower at this time. I am using HighFive cells. Is it possible to add protease inhibitor coctail directly to the medium of the cells? Has anyone done this yet?

I have no experience with baculovirus expression system. However, I feel addition of protease inhibitor to the medium might be deleterious as these compounds are knows to be cytotoxic.
