My PI and I are thinking of constructing a sage library and we are wondering if it will fit into our budget.

Does anyone in the forum have experience constructing a sage library?

From what I read, making the library would be the cheapest aspect of the project. We would probably buy the invitrogen kit which I guessing is around $500 US <-?

As far as sequencing the clones, I estimate that I would have to sequence about 25 96 well plates.

This works out to ~$3500 for the minipreps (qiagen) and a sequencing cost of $480/ 96 well plate or ~$12,000.

This looks to be about $16,000.

From what I read, free software is available (SAGE2000) to analyze the results.

Is there anything big or small that I would need to concider in planning this experiment?

Ben
